Drama Team has been continuously promoting performing arts in the school and giving our students a stage to showcase their talents. Through the process, it is hoped that they could find themselves and enhance their self-confidence. Meanwhile, they could develop their speaking and communication skills and cultivate their interests in drama as well.

 

In the past, the Drama Group organized a series of activities and offered a platform for students to learn more about drama. As the Group has been transformed to Drama Team, we participate in a great variety of drama competitions every year, including Hong Kong School Drama Festival, ‘Speak Up – Act Out!’ Improvised Drama Competition, and EMI Drama Fest. During the process, students from different forms worked together to develop drama scripts, select suitable performers, rehearse, prepare props, and arrange lighting and sound effects.

 

As a result, we have won some significant awards, such as Awards of Outstanding Performance, and Outstanding Performer in 2019 EMI Drama Fest, Awards of Outstanding Performer, and Outstanding Script in 2023 EMI Drama Fest, Awards of Outstanding Script, Outstanding Performers and Outstanding Cooperation in Hong Kong School Drama Festival. In the year 2024/25, we have won the Award for Commendable Overall Performance, Outstanding Director, Outstanding Script and four Outstanding Performers for our original show called ‘Que Sera’ in Hong Kong School Drama Festival

 

In terms of radio drama, we got the First Prize, Merit Prize, and the Third Prize in ‘Speak Out – Act Up!’ Improvised Drama Competition in 2022/23, 2021/22 and 2018/19 respectively.

 

In addition to the awards, more importantly, from year to year, we have trained groups of students who are interested in performing arts and helped them stretched their potentials with authentic drama experiences. Some of them aim to pursue further degrees in the area in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts after graduation.
